I LOVE my new iron!

I have had a chance to play around with my new iron and tickled pink with what I have seen so far!  The Velocity 200IR is the newest version of home iron that was just released.steam light V200

The improvements that have been made make this easier to use, as well as being able to use it longer (not running out of steam and shutting off the auto-off feature).  I will go over the features that I like, one by one.

First, there is actually an OFF button.  The Digital Velocity, which I have used for 7 years, had 4 settings, but not an actual OFF button.  When I was finished ironing, I usually turned it to the lowest setting and after a few minutes, the Auto-off would kick in and the iron would stop heating.  On the V200, you actually have to move the dial to OFF to turn it off, or to one of the heat settings.  This saves electricity, and keeps my mind at ease about leaving the iron on.

Next, it has 2 levels of steam (you can see in the picture above that I have selected the high steam level).  This light indicates which steam level you are on – Medium, High or none, if the lights are not on.  Steam can be used horizontally (ironing) or vertically (steaming a garment while it is on a hanger).   I had to laugh…. one of the Do’s & Don’ts listed in the manual:  Do not spray ‘Vertical’ steam onto a garment while it is ON A PERSON!!!

Even better, there is a sensor in the handle that tells the iron when someone has let go of the handle.  If no one is touching the handle, then the steam stops.  This will save me tons of water fill-ups! When I am working or even more so, sharing an iron, many times the steam is left on, even after the iron has been used, and the steam uses up the water.  I have to say, this is one of my favorite features.

Finally, you can over ride the auto-shut off and turn it off.  The iron will automatically shut off after 8 minutes if no one is using it, but if you want it to stay on for longer than that, you just hold the Max steam button for 8 seconds and tah dah!!! you have bypassed the  auto-shutoff feature.  Once you unplug the iron, the default (auto- shutoff  is ON)  turns back on.

These are $169, and if me to bring you one to the SAGA Convention in Hampton in a couple of weeks, just let me know – no shipping!  Just shoot me an email (  vaune@vaune.com  ) or you can order through my website,  www.vaune.com
I am still working on kits 🙂  I am also keeping everyone on the East coast in my thoughts – hope you are staying safe, warm, and dry!  I will pass on the wind, but oh, how I would love to have a rain storm here so I could hole up and stitch!  It will probably be 3-4 months before we get any rain.

Happy Stitching,
