Hello Everyone!
It has been a busy spring! The last few months have been busy, and summer is here! I attended Susan Khalje’s French Jacket Class, my youngest daughter (finally) had her wedding (4 date changes, due to COVID), work done in our kitchen (can’t say enough good things about pull out drawers in the cabinets), History of Italian Fashion Class, registration for our Traditions and Transitions Retreat that Cindy Foose and I host, and finally – the last day of school was yesterday!
Here are some of the things from the last couple of months. For some of them, I will be blogging more in depth later, but want to give little snippets of them now.
First, and probably the most anticipated and exciting, we finally had Emma and Paul’s wedding. We are so excited to welcome him to our family! We had a wonderful time with family and friends, the weather was beautiful and it finally happened!
Annie, Dan, and Felix were able to come for a whole week, as this change in date coincided with her Spring Break. A good time was had by all!
This spring, I took a History of Italian Fashion class from Canada College that is up in the Bay Area. It was online, so I was able to attend via zoom. I will have more about this later, but I had to share this video clip. As you know, Italian’s are know for speaking with their hands, and this little video shows that it starts early!
Will we be able to keep our artisans?
Here is another video from class – this is a 5 minute video that shares how COVID has affected artisans. I think just as interesting seeing different artisans and factories in action – vary interesting to watch.
In February, Cindy Foose and Ingrid Chan spent the week with me to take Susan Khalje’s French Jacket class. No, I do not have my jacket finished… yet! My trim is going to be a little different!
Here is a sneak peak at what I am going to be doing with my jacket.
I am getting ready for the ASG Conference, which will be in San Antonio in a few weeks. Hopefully I will see some of you there!
Happy Stitching,
Vaune
