Our new grandson will be here in a few months, so of course, that gives me a new reason to buy fabric (although lets face it – who needs a reason to buy more fabric other than it makes you happy?)!
While I will be the first one to admit that I already have an extensive fabric collection, as I was perusing the other day, I realized that I need to beef up my ‘boy’ fabrics! I found a cute duck flannel at the textile show in NYC, and I already have that on order (will be in a future newsletter!).
I see receiving blankets, burp cloths, and maybe a sleeper! A perfect fabric for a little baby boy.
These little puupy dogs caught my eye as well…
I was at a quilt shop and saw some adorable fabric there as well, so of course that went home in my stash. The ideas are circling in my head….
I am thinking maybe red or yellow gingham for the piping….
I think the bright blue for piping on this one….
And green gingham on this one 🙂
Hmmm…. I only wish I could sew as fast as I can design in my mind.
And a couple more pix from the FIT exhibit:
Me in front of 2 dresses from the early 1800’s. Made from cotton!
This wool jacket is from the mid 1800’s. Although fitted, it does not have the structure of men’s tailoring. I am fascinated by the shape…. not a true peplum, but the silhouette allows movement for some women’s sports – tennis, archery, and walking.
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend,
