Cindy and Vaune’s August School Registration is coming soon!

Hello Everyone!
I hope this finds everyone safe and dry.  It has been a busy couple of months topped off with some much needed crazy rain here in Southern California!  Cindy Foose and I ventured to NYC in January to attend a textile show, work on our designs for our August school, and source fabrics for our projects.  We had a wonderful time and had the added bonus of going to a taping of the Stephen Colbert Show and The Late Show with Seth Meyers.  We had a blast!

Grandbaby #2 (Rocky) arrived in February, so I spent 3 weeks on the Cape, helping with Rocky and shuttling Felix around.  Grammy heaven!  I found a great stain remover that my daughter uses and it works wonders (I will put a link below).  Once back in home in March, I have been getting ready for my trip to teach for the Midnight Oil Smockers next week, and then the Stitchin’ In The Foothills retreat the week after that.

A little bit about our school – many of you know that Cindy and I host a school in August at a retreat center right outside of St. Louis (on the Illinois side).   This year we have 2 sessions.  Session 1 is Friday – Sunday, August 18-20.  Bonus Day is Monday, August 21st, and Session 2 is Tuesday – Thursday, August 22-24.

It is an all-inclusive retreat.  It includes the class, kit, room, meals.  This year our project is a pleated swing skirt with side seam pockets and a coordinating jacket a gathered band in the back.

Magenta is THE color this season, and we found some cute polka dot fabric – the skirt will be using both of these!  We also found the perfect magenta soft twill for the jacket, so the girl will be stylin’!

In our Bonus Day Class, we will be making a cute coordinating bucket hat and a button bracelet to top everything off.  The perfect ensemble!

If you want more information, please email me at vaune@vaune.com and I am happy to email the info/registration brochure we have.  We have such a great time, and hope to see you there!

I mentioned above that Annie showed me a great stain remover.  It is called miss mouth’s messy eater stain treater and it is amazing – sucks blood right out of the cloth! It comes in a 2 pack and I keep one by my laundry basket and one at the washer.

Here is the link on amazon, if you want to try it!

I have a virtual class coming up with SAGA – Button Bits.  It is a smocked basic yoke dress with little button accents, both on the smocking and in the bodice, sleeve, and sash.  I will post more on that in the next couple of days.  Registration for that just opened as well, through the SAGA website.

Have a wonderful Easter, and I will talk with you again soon.

Happy Stitching!

Vaune
