“From Porch to Pew in Blue”

Project 1:

Blue dress with pleated puff sleeves
Project 1: Blue dress with pleated puff sleeves

A timeless treasure for your little one, this charming blue dress is designed with elegance and sweet detail in mind. Crafted in a soft, fine fabric, it features delicate pleated puff sleeves that create a gentle, storybook silhouette. The bodice is beautifully adorned with fine tucks accented by exquisite Swiss scalloped embroidery, adding texture and heirloom-inspired artistry. To top off the look, add a light summer jacket, created from a soft Houndstooth pattern. The jacket’s round neckline accents the dress’s Peter Pan collar, and the crossover sleeves add a touch of flair. Perfect for special occasions or cherished everyday moments, this dress blends classic lines with European grace, making it a piece to be loved and remembered. You will have the choice of adding a belt or a sash and finishing options will be included. The class kit includes fabrics, buttons, patterns, and illustrated instruction booklets related to the assembly of the featured projects. A list of additional notions, supplies, and items needed for the classes will be forwarded in June.

Project 2:
A timeless silhouette with a charming touch of heritage detail, this sleeveless dress is beautifully accented with classic Liberty of London fabric. The delicate floral print highlights the collar, piping, and armholes, adding a refined contrast to the clean lines of the design. Covered buttons in matching Liberty fabric trail gracefully down the front, creating a cohesive and thoughtfully finished look.

A separate waistband defines the silhouette, offering gentle structure while maintaining an effortless feel. Designer’s choice for you – will you add a sweet, simple embroidery on the waistband, or choose a beautiful spaghetti bias belt to accent the waist? Perfect for warm days or special occasions, this dress blends classic tailoring with the unmistakable romance of Liberty’s signature prints, resulting in a piece that feels both elegant and delightfully fresh.

Bonus Day Class: “Luxury Petite Essentials”
Wrap your little one in heirloom-quality softness with our baby burp cloths, bibs, and receiving blankets—thoughtfully crafted from luxurious Cashmere cotton and iconic Liberty of London Tana Lawn. When working with these fabrics, the beauty isn’t just in the fabric, it’s in knowing how to finish it. A key skill in refined sewing is understanding that not every bias technique fits every project. The right finish depends on fabric weight, curve shape, stress points, laundering needs, and the overall look you want to achieve. Mastery comes from knowing how to choose wisely. We will be working with several bias techniques that are not only beautiful, they prevent fraying, allow gentle stretch along curves, and stand up to repeated laundering, making them ideal for baby essentials that are used and loved daily. The result is a collection that feels timeless, refined, and practical: soft enough for cuddles, durable enough for real life, and detailed enough to become keepsakes. Even the smallest essentials deserve exceptional craftsmanship!
