Hello Everyone!
It has been a busy couple of months! Cindy Foose and I held our annual Traditions and Transitions Retreat in August. Our original facility has closed, so we were at a new facility in Columbia, Missouri, and it was lovely. Everyone had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to next year!
I have just returned from the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) 2021 Convention in Oak Brook, IL. What a lovely time – it was wonderful to see and to teach on person! I won a great raffle basket filled with goodies from Maryland. It was donated by the Chesapeake Treasures Chapter. One of the wonderful surprises is that the ‘basket’
is actually a rolling bag with a big pocket on the front. It is full of treasures from Maryland, from chocolate to wine, and everything in between, including a pair of Old Bay Seasoning socks and potato chips! Once I get everything put away, I am going to see if my travel machine will fit inside!
SAGA has announced that they will be continuing their ZOOM class series. ( Spoiler – I will be teaching a SAGA zoom class in 2022!) The next SAGA ZOOM class will be taught by Phyllis Brown and is called Nature’s Christmas.
It is a beautiful Christmas tree that explores the padded satin stitch, granitos, and shadow work, plus more! The class is over 2 sessions in November. If you are interested, click here to see the information sheet. Registration opened this week, and there are still a few spots left. To register, just log in at www.smocking.org and the link to register is under the Events in your Member Area. If you are not a member and are interested in taking this class, you can join and then register!
I hope you have all been sewing and stitching! Fall is just around the corner, although with 90 °+ weather, it is hard to believe!
I am working on my class schedule for the next year – both virtual and in person. I will have it posted soon!
Happy Stitching for now!

Vaune – no biggie, but FYI – you were at Columbia, IL not Columbia,MO🍀🥰
Hello everyone! My mistake, our retreat was in Columbia, IL, not MO (it is right outside of St. Louis, but on the IL side) 🙂
