Traditions and Transitions with Vaune and Cindy, and KY Here We Come!

Hello Everyone, and Happy Spring!

This has been a busy winter, and spring is shaping up to be the same.
First, I have information about our August school, Transitions and Traditions.  We have been working to make this the best school ever, and information is below.  2nd, we have bought land, are working on house plans, and are going to be moving back to KY this summer :).   More busy-ness (in the best possible way) Our oldest just got married last weekend, and it was a wonderful time, with lots of family and friends.  This week is Grammy camp and I will be flying our ‘5 and three quarters’ grandson back to Boston next week.  A week on the Cape and then a teaching weekend for the Bewitching Stitchers and then I will be home in early April.

Our annual Traditions and Transitions school, with myself and Cindy Foose, will be held in Columbia, IL, on Friday-Sunday, August 15 – 17, with the Bonus Day on Monday, August 18.  If we have enough interest, then we will add a 2nd session on Tuesday-Thursday, August 19-21, and the Bonus Day will still be on Monday, August 18.

Our ensemble includes 3 garments that work together to create an adorable outfit.  First is a pair of seersucker pants that are made with an attached cuff, so they can be worn straight or rolled up.  This is topped by a linen summer top that buttons down the front and has a rows of gathers in the back.  Optional is to pleat and smock the back instead of using gathers for the fullness.  Finally, to add a colorful cover, the cropped over shirt is made out of Liberty of London Tana lawn.  These three pieces are perfect for warm summer days, transitioning into the cooler evenings!  The garment sizes run 4-10.  There will be 2 colorways – pictures of those will follow on the next couple of weeks.  The original Liberty that we had chosen is no longer being printed, so we are working on the 2nd color way choices.  Our Alum registration is going on now until the end of March, and we will open up registration to all on April 5th.  We really look forward to this – it is such a relaxing retreat and everyone has so much fun.  What is not to like about sewing all day (and night if you want), with someone feeding you 3 times a day?!  If you are interested in more information, you can email me vaune@vaune.com and I will reply and send the Information and Registration Brochure.  This is an all inclusive school.  The fee includes the class, the kit, the room and the food.  You are also welcome to call me at 805-529-5005 (my cell) if you have questions.  If I am busy with grandkids, just leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I can.

Next up, we are moving back to KY to be closer to my family and to be near my dad as he gets a bit older.  We have land and are working on designing our house.  I do plan on having a LARGE sewing studio!  Hopefully we will be moving in early summer.  Please stay tuned, as I will be running some sales before I move.  I have fabric that is either not being milled anymore, or I don’t have enough to kit a whole class and I am going to be offering these at great prices so I don’t have to move them.  I also have several notions and ‘accessories’ that I can’t order any more, so I will be adding those as well.  I will be posting those here on my blog first, and if any is left, I will add it to my website.

More soon, and

Happy Stitching,

Vaune
