Description

Simply Perfect Smocking is a 3 hour class designed to take your smocking stitches to perfection! Blocking, tension, threads, hand, and needle placement are some of the techniques that I will be teaching. I will show you not only how, but WHY these techniques are important and how they have such an impact on your final results. This class will be a staple in your Technique Toolbox, and you will continually draw on these techniques as you create your smocked garments.
* You will need a piece of pleated fabric, 2-3 colors of stranded floss, and hand needles (7 or 8 Embroidery/Crewel or 7 Sharps) for this class. If you have a pleated doodle cloth, you are welcome to use that. The goal of this class is to teach you technique, not to create a project. If you do not have access to this, you can purchase a kit that will be mailed to you. The kit will be on the Class page, as well as the Kit page.
Please Note: This is not a class to learn how to smock. You should be familiar with pleated fabric, cable and trellis stitches, and know how to read a smocking plate (the smocking design graph).
I will be opening a private facebook group for this class. The class will be recorded and I will have the recording posted in the fb group for 4 weeks. After the class, I will monitor the fb group for questions during that time.
Stay tuned for the next session!
