Here she is again – a pink floral this time. Puff sleeves and a ruffle collar! The next picture gets even better!
You can see that she has on a SLIP with her dress…be still my beating heart!
And on to other things –
I have wanted to do more sewing for myself, but always have trouble fitting myself. Even though I am on the small size, I am no where near a standard size. I am short waisted, and have long arms and legs. I read about a personalized dress form, where they scan your body and then make a dress form with your measurements. You wear undergarments for the scan, especially since you have undergarments on when you wear clothes (I hope!?), so the form is a close match for fitting. One thing I found out, and I really had NO IDEA, was that my shoulders are really uneven:
You can see in this partial scan of my back how much lower my back left shoulder is than my right shoulder. Hmmmm – I did not realize that I was that crooked! They do several scans, and it was like this in all of them. I then stood in front of my bathroom mirror and yes, once it was pointed out to me, I really could see it. Oh well!
When I went to Boston in May, a took a quick day trip to D.C. to get scanned for my dress form (and had a GREAT lunch with Marlene Mehn and Barbara Meger). I received pictures of my scan, along with all of my measurements, and then they went to work on my personalized dress form. I got my email yesterday that it is on its way. I will post more pictures when it gets here next week. I can’t wait!
And of course, I will be on the lookout for more BYD’s.
