Join me for my Texas Tote – A Virtual Class through SAGA!

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I know you are all in the swing of Holiday festivities.  We put up our 3 trees today.  We have our main tree (live), that goes in our entry way.  Lights are on today, ornaments will go up tomorrow!  I have a small, 3 ft artificial tree that goes on the counter behind my kitchen sink.  I put all kinds of small food and kitchen ornaments on that one, since it is in the kitchen.  I also have another artificial tree that goes in our bedroom, and it has all silver ornaments.  Our bedroom is on the 2nd floor, in the front of the house, so the tree shines through the front bay window as an outside decoration as well.  I will begin baking this week, with most of it being done next weekend.  I am going to try to sneak in a bit of sewing this week, and send a Santa pillowcase to Felix.  My list keeps getting longer!

I am going to be teaching my Texas Tote class virtually on January 27, February 10 and 14th.  This will be through the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA).  It has an embroidered pocket on the outside, and 2 pockets on the inside.  I have lined one of the pockets with RFID fabric, so that you can keep your credit cards in there and it will protect the data from being scanned.

It has Liberty of London Tana lawn accents – scallops around the bottom, the pocket flap, and the bias that is used throughout.

It comes in three different color ways:  Red/Blue with Red leather handles, Peach/Pink with Tan leather handles, and Blue/Lavender with Blue leather handles.  I am busily cutting kits as I write this.  If you can not make all of the classes, I will be recording each lesson.  I create a private facebook group for the class and then post the class recordings so you can watch them if you miss a class or if you just want to watch again.  I usually leave the group up for a month after the last class.  If you want more information, you can click here to see the information sheet, or you can email me – vaune@vaune.com.  I hope to see you there!

I am also working on a few other things……

You all now I love to use gingham for piping and accent fabric.  I have had several requests for this, so I am working on a gingham collection of fat quarters that will be shipping in January.  I have about 60 different colors of gingham!!!  I will be posting more about this in my next post, but you can see that I am getting the fat quarters ready.

I have also started working on my Cosmo Floss of the Month Club.  The first month of will be January 2024.  I have started wrapping my own set so I will be letting you know which colors will be going in which floss box.  I will NOT be sending the colors out in numerical order – I have divided up the colors so that you have a range of colors in each shipment.  Because of this, you will not be filling up the boxes sequentially.  Since I am doing mine first, I will let you know which colors go where, so you do not have to keep switching them around.  You will get all of the floss boxes in January, along with the first set of floss and the plastic floss bobbins to wrap them on.  I will also include a conversion chart so that if you are smocking or embroidering something with DMC color numbers, you will be able to convert to Cosmo colors.  I am very excited about having a new set of threads!!!

*** Please note that I will NOT be wrapping these for you – that is a job that you will be doing yourself! ***

I have also started measuring and wrapping some end cut and extra fabrics that I have.  I will be posting those over the next few weeks as well.

In the meantime, enjoy your Holiday Season!

Happy Stitching,

Vaune
